📍Oahu, Hawaii 🌺|Highly Recommended|🏮 Imanas Tei
After a full day of flying to Hawaii, my first meal was at this izakaya 🍱✈️. I came specifically for their Sumo Hot Pot, and even though I was exhausted with a migraine and feeling irritable while traveling alone with my little one, the food was still delicious 🥘❤️. I’m sure I would’ve enjoyed it even more if I’d been in better shape! Lots of Japanese customers here—many ordered sukiyaki, but I didn’t want anything sweet due to my headache. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming 🏮✨. The long shared tables are cleverly designed to seat multiple groups. It’s a popular spot, so reservations are a must! Parking is limited 🅿️. The meters across the street only take coins. I ended up parking at the nearby 7/11, bought something, and asked the cashier if it was okay to leave my car there while eating next door—they said yes 👍. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sumo Hot Pot 🍲 Chanko Nabe As expected, it’s packed with ingredients: salmon, scallops, shrimp, crab legs, beef slices, chicken, meatballs, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, glass noodles, mochi, burdock root, and cabbage. The broth was amazing!! Sweet and savory—perfect with the crab legs 🦀. For me, the soul of sumo hot pot is the meatballs, but theirs were a bit less tender than ideal—a small letdown. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Yellowtail Collar 🐠 Exceptionally well-cooked—tender, rich, and flavorful. I was driving and had my kid with me, otherwise I would’ve loved to pair it with a drink 🍶! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Grilled Beef Tongue Cooked to absolute perfection 👌🔥. As a huge beef tongue fan, I was completely satisfied. #LifeAbroad #MyLifeOverseas #DocumentingLifeAbroad #FoodReview #WeekendEats #FoodDiary #FoodShare #FoodieUSA #Inspiration #WeekendPlans #DailyFood #LifeInNorthAmerica #Hawaii #HawaiiTravel #Oahu #OahuGuide #Izakaya #HawaiianFood #HawaiiEats
