Old City Middle Eastern Restaurant Malooga
⭐️Today at noon, I went to Malooga, a Middle Eastern restaurant in Old City, Philadelphia, with my friends. (There are so many great places to eat in that area. It’s almost impossible to go wrong with any restaurant there! I’ll definitely write about each place I’ve visited when I have time!) Hummus ⭐️We started with hummus. While eating it, we joked, “Here we go again, getting ready to fart after eating this.” Why does eating hummus always seem to cause gas? Does anyone know the science behind this? Please enlighten me! Stuffed Grape Leaves ⭐️The color and shape of these leaves are a bit hard to describe, but they’re really interesting to eat! I highly recommend giving them a try. I’ll keep the flavor and texture a secret for now. Feel free to come back and share your thoughts after you’ve tried them! Salmon Mustafata ⭐️This seems to be a new dish on the menu. We initially wanted to order grilled fish, but it was out of stock. The waitress recommended this salmon dish, and it was amazing! It was my favorite dish of the meal. When it arrived, it was still sizzling. I was worried that the high temperature might make the salmon a bit dry, but it wasn’t! It wasn’t dry, but it wasn’t overly tender either. The sauce is the star of this dish—it’s perfect for mixing with rice. The potatoes in the dish were also a delightful surprise. They don’t fall apart when you pick them up, but they melt in your mouth with just a little bite. The texture is incredibly smooth! Lamb Haneeth ⭐️This was delicious too! The rice was perfectly cooked, with each grain distinct and separate. The added almond slices gave it a rich and varied texture. The lamb was well-prepared, with just a tiny hint—maybe 0.5%—of the usual gamy flavor. The meat was tender, and even the lean parts were not dry at all. #IrresistibleExoticDelights #WinterLamb #FoodieAdventures #MeatLovers #Philadelphia #PhillyFood
