One-Day Itinerary for Phnom Penh (With Map) 🇰🇭 Who Said It’s Boring?

Summary: Phnom Penh is totally worth a day of exploration! 📅 Itinerary: Morning arrival at the airport → Larryta Bus Station (luggage storage) → Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum → Cambodia Independence Monument → Wat Botum Park → Royal Palace of Phnom Penh → Phnom Penh Night Market → Overnight bus to Siem Reap (Larryta Bus). 🚌 Transportation: From the airport to Larryta Bus Station: Take Bus No. 3 (direct, ~50 mins). From Larryta Bus Station to Tuol Sleng: Take Bus No. 1A (~20 mins). The rest of the attractions are within ~1km walking distance—route is quite smooth. Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Entry: $5 + $5 for audio guide (highly recommended). The audio guide details the history of the Khmer Rouge—plan 3-4 hours for a thorough visit. Nearby lunch spot: Kengkong Restaurant (delicious!). Cambodia Independence Monument ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A quick photo stop—iconic landmark. Locals often take graduation/wedding photos here. Wat Botum Park ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nearby small temples are worth exploring. The square is full of pigeons (you can feed them). A local hangout with a playground and fitness equipment—chill vibe. Street snacks available! Royal Palace of Phnom Penh ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Didn’t enter but admired the grand, golden exterior (great for photos). Adjacent to the Mekong River—walk along it to reach the night market. Phnom Penh Night Market ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Felt too touristy/commercial. Explored briefly but ate at a roadside stall outside instead. 📷 Gear: Fujifilm X-S20 + 15-45mm Updating some travel shots (check out my pics lol 😆) + sharing this itinerary. #TravelPhotography #LearnPhotography #Cambodia
