Originally statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, they were later damaged by subsequent rulers. 🛕 Medinet Habu (Ramesseum): 🏛️ Often overlooked by tourists, this is one of Egypt’s most underrated attractions! It served as the mortuary temple of Ramesses III and represents one of the last major architectural projects of the pharaonic era 🏺. The site was originally a royal residence, with the first courtyard used for ceremonies and entertainment, while the second was repurposed into a church during the Ptolemaic and Roman eras. Unlike other temples, it boasts exceptionally well-preserved colorful murals 🎨. The reliefs on the pylon gate make for the perfect photo spot 📸! 🛕 Valley of the Kings: 🗿 Purchase a standard ticket for 600 EGP, which allows access to three tombs. The must-see tombs include Tutankhamun’s, Ramesses II, Ramesses VI, and Seti I. If you're not particularly interested in tombs, there's no need to pay extra for more—most mummies have been moved to the Egyptian Museum 🏺, so only murals remain. It gets extremely hot and stuffy inside, so bringing a handheld fan 🌬️ is highly recommended! 🛕 Karnak Temple: 🐂 If you’ve seen Death on the Nile, you’ll remember the bull statues here! As the largest temple in ancient Egypt, it features 134 massive columns—each 21 meters tall and so wide it takes six people to embrace them 🤯. These columns have stood for over 3,000 years without collapsing, a true testament to ancient Egyptian ingenuity ✨. The play of light and shadow in the Great Hypostyle Hall is absolutely breathtaking 🌅. Opening hours: 6:00 AM - 5:30 PM. 🛕 Luxor Carriage Ride: 🐎 Don’t miss the chance to experience an Egyptian "Ferrari"! Though I joined a tour group, the exact cost isn’t clear—each carriage seats two, and a tip of around 50 EGP per person is customary 💰. The carriage takes you around the city center and drops you off right at the next stop: Luxor Temple. 🛕 Luxor Temple: ⛩️ Located in the heart of Luxor, this temple showcases architectural styles of the New Kingdom period. Expanded by Ramesses II, it features towering obelisks, majestic pharaoh statues, and exquisite carvings on walls and columns 🏺.
