๐ One-Day Travel Guide to Okayama ๐
๐ Okayama Station (Reachable from Osaka in 48 minutes via the Sanyo Shinkansen) ๐ Kuretake Inn Okayama (Highly Recommended!) For less than 5000 yen on weekdays, you get a roomy space with a fantastic street view! Not only that, but this price also includes a buffet breakfast for two (verified to be quite lavish for an affordable hotel in Japan), and each person can get a free draft beer every night at the lounge on the first floor. This place is definitely the best value for money among the hotels I've stayed at in Kansai! ๐ป Mori Okonomiyaki Mori A popular izakaya where reservations are needed for peak dining times. (Verified that going off-peak at 5 pm gets you a seat) The menu is limited, focusing on oyster okonomiyaki and stir-fried udon on a hot plate. Since it's made to order at the hot plate, the udon has an excellent wok aroma. The restaurant has a homey atmosphere where you take off your shoes and sit cross-legged, filled with locals, very atmospheric. ๐ Dantotsu Ramen Okayama Ichiban Store This place is known for its generous portions (the photo doesn't do justice to the visual impact in person). Four sizes are available, and the smallest bowl is enough for those with smaller appetites (I ordered the third largest, which was about twice the size of a regular bowl elsewhere๐ ). The original flavor ramen comes with up to six times the amount of bean sprouts (you'll see a mountain of them like in the picture๐คฃ), and if you can handle spice, go for the red ramenโit's incredibly delicious! ๐๐๐ ๐ The city of Okayama isn't large, and the main sightseeing route is as follows ๐ Ujo Park ๐๐ Okayama Castle ๐๐ Tsukimi Bridge ๐๐ Okayama Korakuen (Closes at 6 pm, so be mindful of the time!) โผ๏ธ Since you're in Okayama, don't miss the Kurashiki Beauty Area, only a 17-minute drive away (For detailed, see another post in my collection). If you want a packed day, visit Kurashiki Beauty Area in the morning and return to Okayama in the afternoon to follow the route aboveโit's completely doable! ๐ #Japan #JapanOffTheBeatenPath #KansaiTravel #Okayama #MobilePhotography #OkayamaFood #OkayamaAccommodation #HiddenGemRestaurants #Shinkansen #KansaiWideAreaFiveDayPass #JapaneseRailways
