Korakuen Garden in Okayama is revered as one of Japan’s top three gardens and draws many visitors with its immaculate design and seasonal beauty.

Having traveled with the hope of experiencing its celebrated autumn magic, the timing and natural unpredictability left us feeling that something was missing. While our visit may not have delivered the iconic scenery we’d envisioned, Korakuen’s reputation as a masterpiece of landscape design is well-deserved, and we hope to return in the future under more...
