One More Wild Hot Spring | Obsessed with Eugene, Oregon’s Weather 🌤️

📍 Terwilliger Hot Springs Trailhead (search on Google Maps for directions!) ♨️ Eugene is packed with wild hot spring spots, and this one was my favorite during my week-long stay here!♨️ You pay the entrance fee in cash—only a few dollars—and then it’s about a 20-minute hike to the springs (I walked pretty slowly, so faster hikers might get there quicker!).♨️ There are three pools total. The bottom is rocky (not muddy), so it feels super clean—you can tell the area is well-maintained. The water temperature is perfect in winter; it might get too hot for comfort in summer, though!♨️ Just like most wild hot springs, there are usually some hippies who prefer soaking au naturel. Hippies love nature, and honestly? I think I’m half a hippie myself, haha 😂 🌲 We stayed in a nearby cabin area, right next to a small stream—it was so peaceful! There was no cell service there, but that turned out to be a plus: we used the cabin’s mailing address to clear out my wishlist tax-free (gotta love tax-free states! 🛍️🌲 Eugene has become one of my favorite places ever. The damp winter air, the moss covering the rocks… it made me feel like I was back in western Sichuan during winter—such a familiar, cozy vibe.🌲 We even found a delicious Sichuan restaurant here, which made the city feel even more livable! 🎣 The area is full of rivers—renting a small boat and fishing all day was pure joy! No fancy stuff, just simple rowboat trips for fly fishing or regular angling. It was so peaceful and “old-school”—way more fun than using motorized boats with fish-finding radars. Easily my favorite fishing experience ever! (Pro tip: Winter is the closed season, and you’ll need a fishing license—grab one from local shops first! 📜 If you have enough time, you can drive straight to Crater Lake—there’s a beautiful wild hot spring there too. I’ve got it on my list now, and I’ll go whenever the mood (and schedule) hits! #WildHotSprings #Eugene #Oregon #OregonOutdoors #WinterGetaway #TaxFreeShopping #FishingVibes
