Orlando’s Popular Chinese Restaurant “Chilispot” – Major Letdown 😭

Couldn’t resist trying two “top-rated” Chinese spots from Xiaohongshu during my Orlando trip… let’s just say they’re totally skipable 🥲 🍽️ First Stop: Chilispot Food arrived two minutes after ordering—definitely pre-made, no question 😅. Every dish followed the same script: first bite’s okay, but after a few more, it’s unbearably salty. The “Spicy Sautéed Pork Kidneys”? Just a blob of seasoning (coating) the meat—no real flavor. This was our third visit: First time (two years ago) was good, second was “meh,” and this time? (total disappointment). No more chances—we’re done. 🥢 Second Stop: U&ME Hot Pot BuffetThe decor looks tired, like it’s been around for years. The broth? Super artificial, with that fake “enhanced” aroma 🫠. We arrived a bit late, but the ingredients were still fresh enough—seafood and meat tasted fine, at least no stomach issues 😅. But there weren’t many meat options, and the veggies were just so-so. The condiment bar and cooked food station looked gross—I didn’t dare touch the (cooked dishes). Worst part? The server sighed every single time they cleared our plates 😮‍💨. 🫠 Final ThoughtsIt’s way too easy to hit bad Chinese food in the US. So many places charge for “freshly cooked” dishes but serve pre-made slop—no service, but they still expect a tip. These two were “top recommendations” on Xiaohongshu, but the experience was garbage. Take Chinese food recs there with a huge grain of salt—foreign restaurant reviews are way more honest! #OrlandoTravel #OrlandoFood #OrlandoEats #OrlandoDisney #OrlandoEpicFood #InternationalStudentEats #DisneyMerch #OrlandoDisneyRestaurants #WaltDisneyWorld
