Oxford Day Trip Food: A Cozy Bowl of Noodles
Visited Oxford on the first day of Chinese New Year! Since it was Sunday, many places – including the supposedly delicious Gloucester Green Market – were closed. So we headed near Oxford University and found a Japanese ramen spot. Surprisingly, it was really good! 🍜 🍜 Ramen Kulture 📍 52 St Giles', Oxford, OX1 3LU, England The shop is a bit small – only about 4-5 tables (seating ~20 people). You might need to wait during lunch hours (we waited 10 minutes for a table of 4). For larger groups, it’s best to call ahead! Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Rich Japanese bone broth with crispy yet tender chashu – thin slices, fatty but not greasy! Despite the name, it wasn’t really spicy 😄. The portion was just right, and the broth was creamy and not too salty. Takoyaki Balls 🌟🌟🌟 A classic Japanese snack – nothing extraordinary, but still tasty! Four pieces per order. Solid three stars! 🍦 Dessert – George & Danver (multiple branches) Oxford exclusive!! After visiting the Harry Potter filming locations, we noticed a crowded spot nearby. Looked it up and found out it’s only in Oxford – had to try it! (Got too excited and forgot to take pics 😅) You can choose a cup or cone – one scoop per flavor. I tried Oxford Blue (blueberry) and the recommended chocolate (dark chocolate, fragrant but not overly sweet). Heard they change their limited-time flavors every few days – lucky Oxford students! Psst… their latte with a scoop of ice cream is also supposed to be amazing! ☕🍦 #Oxford #Food #FoodReview #UK #TravelDiary ✨
