🦪 Oyster House | Philadelphia's Oyster Haven 🍔

The Quick Version: Better than Pearl & Mary, with more variety. The ambiance is a bit rough-around-the-edges, but there's a whole wall dedicated to an oyster shell collection—it's quite a conversation starter! 🦪 Oyster Experience We tried all six types of oysters on the menu. Small in size, but super fresh. Clean taste, not fishy at all, and they don't leave a lingering aftertaste. Not particularly juicy, but definitely edible. On a side note, does anyone know where to find fresh Gillardeau oysters in Philadelphia? I'm really craving them! 🥢 Appetizers - CRUDOS Series 🐟 TUNA Crudo with wasabi, green apple, and ginger-scallion vinaigrette The tuna was from the back part, sliced quite thick and super fresh. There was a generous amount of scallions, which I loved. The only downside was that there were only three slices, so I added some scallops later. 🐚 SCALLOP Crudo with sesame chili crunch and scallions The scallops were incredibly fresh, soft, and tender. They had a slight sesame and chili oil aroma that was so comforting and not greasy at all. Definitely worth ordering! 🍔 BURGER bacon jam, crab mayo, cooper sharp, fries I was too tipsy to take a photo, but I vaguely remember the fries being really delicious. 🦪 Oyster Shooter ×2 Still not a fan. Who actually enjoys Oyster Shooters?!! I've tried again and still can't find the appeal. 🍷 Drinks I asked the waiter to recommend the sweetest rosé, but I got the driest one. Oh well, I'm used to it. Everything but the rosé is sweet enough. My friend ordered a cocktail—I can't remember the name, but it was pretty good, reminiscent of a California sunset. 📝 Summary: A great spot for a casual meal and conversation. By the end of our meal, the oyster shucker started timing himself to see how fast he could open oysters. He mentioned something about breaking a record. It felt like watching people strive for meaningless achievements, but in a charming way. #food #Philadelphia #PhillyRestaurants #PhillyDining #PhillyEats #PhillyLife #USA #PhillySeafood
