Oyster House | Philadelphia Oyster House 🍛

Better than Pearl & Mary, with more variety. The decor is a bit casual, but there’s a whole wall dedicated to an oyster shell collection, which is quite fun. 🦪 Oyster Experience We tried all six types of oysters on the menu. They were small but very fresh. The taste was clean and not fishy at all, and they didn’t leave a lingering aftertaste. They weren’t particularly juicy, but they were definitely edible. 🥢 Appetizers: CRUDOS Series 🐟 TUNA Crudo with wasabi, green apple, and ginger-scallion vinaigrette The tuna was from the back part of the fish, sliced quite thick and very fresh. There was a generous amount of scallions, which I really liked. However, there were only three pieces, so I later added scallops. 🐚 SCALLOP Crudo with sesame chili crunch and scallions The scallops were incredibly fresh, soft, and tender. There was a hint of sesame and chili oil aroma that was very comforting and not greasy at all. This dish was definitely worth ordering! 🍔 BURGER Bacon jam, crab mayo, cooper sharp, and fries. I was too tipsy to take a photo, but I remember the fries were really delicious. 🦪 Oyster Shooter ×2 Still not a fan. Who can actually enjoy Oyster Shooters?! I still haven’t found a good one. Another failed attempt. 🍷 Drinks I asked the waiter to recommend the sweetest rosé, but I got the driest one instead. Oh well, I’m used to it. Everything but rosé can be sweet. My friend ordered a cocktail whose name I forgot, but it was quite tasty, reminiscent of a California sunset. 📝 Summary: A great spot for a casual meal and conversation. As we were eating, the oyster shucker started timing himself to see how fast he could open oysters. He mentioned something about preparing to break a record. It felt surreal, like watching people strive for meaningless achievements. #food #Philadelphia #PhillyRestaurant #PhillyEats #PhillyLife #PhillyStudyAbroad #USA #PhillySeafood #InternationalStudentMeals
