Palpa House
📍Palpa House – it’s tucked right across the street from my coffee class spot ☕! My teacher was the one who first told me about it, and I’m so glad they did because it’s such a fantastic place for genuine local dishes 🍛! I think part of its charm is that it’s mostly a local favorite, so when I walk in, there’s this warm, welcoming vibe that wraps around you like a hug 🫂. Every single time I’ve visited, the staff have been incredibly sweet and attentive – they’ll come over with the softest smiles and ask, “Mam, is everything tasting good? Would you like us to add a little more to your plate?” 🥰 It’s those little gestures that make you feel like part of the family! One thing I always go for is the “Kana set” (so sorry, my brain’s blanking on the exact spelling 😅) – it’s a wonderful rice-based platter that comes piled high with fresh, flavorful veggies, pieces of meat that’s been cooked to tender perfection, and a nice, steaming bowl of soup 🥣. Each element complements the others so well, it’s like a delicious little symphony in every bite 🎶! If you’re in the mood to step out of your comfort zone and try something new, the “Kaja set” is worth a shot (again, spelling might be off – forgive me 🙈). The main staple here is these flattened, fried rice cakes that are super crispy 🍘. Now, I have to be honest – it wasn’t really my cup of tea 😬. It just didn’t hit that “staple food” spot for me, more like a crunchy snack. But if you love that crispy texture, you might end up loving it! Oh, and there’s another little treasure I need to mention – Sandwich Point, which has this bright red storefront that’s hard to miss 🔴! Their sandwiches are absolute winners – they’re super affordable and taste amazing 🥪. I kick myself every time because I totally forgot to take photos of them 😭. But trust me, if you happen to spot it while wandering around, do yourself a favor and grab one. You’ll be grinning from ear to ear with every bite, I promise! 😋 #Pokhara
