In the city of love, Paris, it's essential to find a night to indulge in romance. Mer & Coquillage, while not a traditional French restaurant, boasts an excellent ambiance, attentive service, and delicious dishes, making it a perfect choice for a date. 🦪🦪 Oysters are a must-try when in France. This restaurant's oysters are slightly more expensive than others, but they are indeed larger and have a richer flavor. Freshness is a given, but having such large and plump oysters in this season is quite rare. We quickly devoured all the oysters. 🐚🧈 Clams in butter and herbs, a very refreshing dish. The small clams are incredibly sweet, and paired with a simple sauce of herbs and butter, it enhances the clams' freshness to the fullest. This sauce with bread is out of this world. Even as bread-eaters every day, we couldn't resist adding more bread to savor the sauce. 🐟🐟 For the main course, we ordered pan-fried sea bass with white asparagus. The bass was crispy on the outside while the flesh remained tender and juicy, a testament to the chef's mastery of the ingredients. Fresh fish truly doesn't need heavy seasoning to bring out the best flavors. The side dish was in-season white asparagus, which is sweeter and more succulent than regular asparagus, perfectly embodying the concept of eating in season. 🥦🥬 Another main course was pan-fried scallops with a generous amount of green vegetables. The scallops were sweet and cooked to perfection. The most surprising part was the assortment of unidentified vegetables, each with its distinct flavor, gently presented and very tasty. 🍫🍫 We ordered a chocolate dessert, which wasn't too sweet, just to our liking, and even I, who's not a dessert lover, found it delicious. The restaurant's environment is truly beautiful, making it an ideal spot for a date. However, it is slightly pricey with lower cost-performance ratio. If you don't have a preferred restaurant in central Paris, this place would be a great choice.
