Paris | Japanese-Inspired French Cuisine 🍣
Baillotte is also a trendy little spot in the 6th arrondissement. It's said that the Japanese chef, Satoshi Amitsu, who was previously the sous chef at Narro, was sent here by the owner to open this new place. We tried the three-course set, and it was definitely impressive! 🌟 1️⃣ Appetizer: The combination of scallop, kiwi, trout roe, and cream has a distinctly Japanese touch, and it's perfectly balanced. The flavors are refreshing, and it looks amazing in photos. We also ordered Jerusalem artichoke (topinambour), also known as sunchoke. The foamy Jerusalem artichoke sauce is very light, with a nice aroma from the bottom layer of air-dried beef slices, topped with roasted Jerusalem artichoke chips. There are many layers, and it's quite interesting to eat! 🍓 2️⃣ Main Course: We ordered the daily fresh fish and Limousin veal rump. The fish, according to the waiter, is a white fish, but I'm not sure exactly what kind. The chicory inside left a strong impression on me—it's a bit bitter but delicious when soaked in the sauce. The blood orange adds a nice tanginess, and the chicory's bitterness helps cut through the richness. The veal rump is quite firm, which means it's a bit tough to cut. There's also chicory inside, and surprisingly, there are pears on the side with black dots. I didn't expect that! 🥩 3️⃣ Dessert: The dessert was a bit more traditional. We ordered the "Pina Colada Vacherin Style." Pina Colada is a traditional Puerto Rican cocktail made with rum, coconut cream, and pineapple juice. The dessert features rum-soaked pineapple on top, a layer of roasted coconut sorbet in the middle, and coconut-flavored meringue at the bottom. However, I didn't particularly like this dessert; it felt a bit disjointed and had a canned sweetness to it. We also tried the Mont Blanc, which didn't look like the traditional version and had added grapefruit juice to cut the richness. The flavor was average; nothing stood out, as Mont Blanc is such a classic and there are many great versions out there. 🍍 💛 This lunch set is available from Tuesday to Saturday. The three-course meal for 41 euros is definitely worth trying, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is great, mostly frequented by locals. I recommend booking in advance. 📅 📍Baillotte 📧restaurantbaillotte.fr (for reservations) 💰 Tuesday-Saturday lunch: three courses for 39 euros (+2), two courses for 33 euros ⏰ Sunday: 12:00 - 14:00, Monday: closed Tuesday-Saturday: 12:00 - 14:00, 19:00 - 22:00 #ParisianCuisine #ParisianEats #ParisTravel #ParisianLife #ParisianHotels #ParisianDaily #Bistro #FrenchCuisine #FrenchFood #food
