🍴 Paris | Modern French Cuisine at Korus❤️
「Modern Fusion French Cuisine」 The chef hails from South America and is influenced by Japanese cuisine in his approach to French cooking. I've been to Narro in the 5th arrondissement and Alleudium in the 9th, both of which offer a Japanese-French fusion. Overall, the combination is fancy, creative, and intricate, but sometimes, taste is what truly matters. My expectations were a bit lowered when I heard about the Japanese inspiration, but this place exceeded them. 「Amuse-Bouche/ Appetizer」 Chorizo Grissini & Eels Tart & Arancini //The Italian grissini with fragrant Spanish chorizo is truly delightful, a great combination (bingo) //Butter tarts are common in appetizers, but with a cream cheese and eel filling flavored with what seems like Japanese miso (not sure, not familiar with Japanese cuisine), it's an effective mix of carbs, fats, and sugar in an innovative way (bingo x2) //Arancini mixed with Japanese sushi rice, a blend I'd call Italian x Japanese x Shanghai sticky rice cake (Italian gesture 🤌🏻) 「Bread/ Bread」 Sourdough with homemade butter Warm sourdough bread❤️ with butter and cream cheese/sour cream(?)in the middle, plus a special mix of spices, in one word, eat! (bingoooo x3) 「Starter/ Appetizer」 Asparagus The difference between my spring seasonal cooking and the chef's is that I would just pan-fry asparagus with hollandaise sauce, while the chef can create layers of vegetarian experiences with two sauces I can't name (like sesame sauce) and crushed peanuts. 「Plat/ Main Course」 Canard with beetrot purée Beetroot purée with pan-fried duck breast, the crispy, rich duck skin reminds me of the roast duck at Yu Bao Xuan. The duck is good, but the radish on the side is a bit disjointed. 「Dessert/ Dessert」 Choco Mousse Chocolate mixed with strong rum flavor, paired with dried sweet potatoes and a touch of peanut sesame white chocolate, the master is indeed a master, every dish offers a three-layered experience before letting you go. 「🍾&🧀」 Their wine options are unique, and the sommelier is very nice. We tried one sparkling wine, champagne, three white wines, and two red wines. In the end, my friend and I ordered four glasses and added a cheese plate. Two people who don't particularly like rindy cheese ended up finishing the whole plate with jam and even asked which cheese it was. Good food, good wine, a bit of sun, and after exams, it's a winning combination. #ParisFood
