Paris | Super Popular Japanese Tonkatsu and Onsen Tamago Bowl
I visited another super popular spot from TikTok, this time a Japanese deep-fried specialty shop in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. The menu is quite simple, focusing on four main deep-fried dishes: chicken nuggets, pork cutlet, vegetable tempura, and fish. You can order them individually or with rice. Since we wanted to try everything, my friend and I ordered three dishes, only to realize later that the portions were way too big and we couldn't finish them all. 🐷 [P1 - Tonkatsu / Thick-Cut Fried Pork Cutlet] The pork cutlet was super thick, with a golden and crispy layer of breadcrumbs fried to perfection. It wasn't greasy at all, but the flavor was a bit bland. Personally, I still miss the thin, spicy-sauce-dipped pork cutlets from Shanghai. 🐟 [P2 - Fish Tempura / Fried Fish Platter] Maybe because both of us love fish, this dish turned out to be our favorite! The platter included two pieces of fried fish, along with fried mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, and eggplant. The batter was thin and crispy, making every bite light and non-greasy. 🐔 [P3 - Karaage Donburi / Fried Chicken Bowl] This is probably the shop's signature dish. The bowl comes with a cute little cup on top. The fried chicken is marinated to perfection and cooked very tender. The rice used is a chewy pearl variety, and it's drizzled with a sweet sauce to keep it moist. We added an onsen tamago (soft-boiled egg) on top, and the runny yolk mixed with the distinct grains of rice was incredibly satisfying with every bite. 🍋 [Homemade Ice-Tea / Homemade Lemon Tea] Highly recommended for lemon lovers! The lemon flavor is very strong and not too sweet, making it a refreshing and palate-cleansing drink that pairs perfectly with the fried dishes. However, the glass was mostly filled with ice, so it didn't last long. #ParisianRestaurant #ParisianCuisine #JapaneseFoodInParis
