Paris French Cuisine Recommendation | L’Apibo
A friend booked this restaurant for us; it’s small inside but has a cozy atmosphere. We arrived around six o’clock and found it empty, with the chef and waitstaff sitting around playing on their phones. We worried it might not be good since there were no customers (especially since the street next to it was bustling). But then we noticed that it only opens at 19:00, and as soon as it did, we rushed in. The place filled up quickly. The menu offers options at 39💶 for two courses, 49💶 for three courses, or 69💶 for a five-course chef’s menu, kind of like a mystery box. The menu isn’t extensive, and since we were a large group, we went for the middle option. We pretty much tried everything. The appetizers and main courses both had scallop options, which were delicious (probably because I love scallops). The pumpkin soup as a starter was a hit with my friend and me, but the other two found the foie gras on toast a bit rich. The bread was crispy and aromatic. I can’t comment on the mushroom soup since I don’t eat mushrooms. The scallop sashimi had a tangy sauce I can’t recall, with pear shavings and a pumpkin sauce on top. The pumpkin sauce was a bit too tangy for my liking. The fish main course was served on a bed of purple rice, with an amazing pumpkin sauce🎃. I think the restaurant excels at making sauces; each dish had a delicious sauce. The scallops were sweet, topped with some kind of sausage that complemented it well. The duck was also good, perfectly paired with the sauce. We didn’t take photos of the desserts (got caught up in drinking and chatting). We had two desserts, pear🍐 and lemon🍋. The pear dessert was covered in chocolate sauce with cooked pear slices and ice cream on top. The lemon one was a mix between ice cream and cheese, with some herbs mixed in, not overpowering, just tangy and delightful. We let the waiter recommend a white wine based on our meal, and it was a perfect match, with a light taste. Overall, it was a comfortable dining experience, great for a casual get-together with friends. #FrenchCuisine #AtmosphericRestaurant #RestaurantRecommendation
