We were very excited to try out this restaurant based on the other reviews, we made a booking on Google which was very easy. When we got to the restaurant we were greeted right away by the friendly waitress who was very patient with our broken french. The menu was quite straight forward and the wine offerings were expansive. Although they didn’t have some of the items we wanted we were given great alternatives. The sommelier recommended a great wine and provided excellent service. Our starters arrived on time and were delicious, unfortunately this is where the experience ended as they completely forgot about our mains and left us waiting a good 30 minutes. When the table next to us who arrived a lot later received their mains they realised they made a mistake and by this time the mood was ruined. We decided to call it a night and they kindly only just charged us for the wine. Rating this 4 stars because the service and food was still delicious and if the mains arrived I’m sure it would have a been a 5 star experience.

Nice atmosphere, lively street, always something going on. Friendly staff. Food wise, a little disappointing overall. Was a fun experience. Staff speaks English and French Chef's choice for 3 levels of plating. I had the carte blanche 5 courses no restrictions: 1) salmon, marinated, served with a cream and pickled courgettes-- must have with the courgettes! Salmon a little tough and hard to cut. 2) watermelon, with Coppa ham and Thon(?) cheese - tasty but not sure if it's just me, the ham was also hard to cut and tough to chew. Great combo of flavors. 3) sea bass on black rice with eggplant puree, sesame cream, smoked paprika sauce and a shiso/perilla leaf- my favorite!!!! Perfectly cooked fish, crackly skin. Perfect with perilla. Delicious rice. 4) pork - not my cup of tea, though the server says usually everyone likes it 5) figs with sesame crackle, vanilla ice cream - delish.

We wanted to love it, but sadly it doesn’t live up to the hype. We decided to get the chef’s menu, and the dishes weren’t different than those being served to the tables around us. The food was good - risotto, beef cheek, pumpkin soup, fish - but it wasn’t great. However, the fifth plate. Ohh la la. We honestly would have rather they told us they didn’t have anything or give us cheese. It was a bowl with chocolate syrup, maybe a poached pear(?), a small boule of vanilla ice cream, and a crumbled, obviously store-bought cookie. In a country with pastries that put the rest of the world to shame, this was an insult. Like, really, it felt like we did something wrong, and they were flipping us off! (We’re French, so it wasn’t a language issue) As it was the last plate, it left an extremely poor impression. We also weren’t impressed by the wine. An Italian red for €18 a glass in France? Qu’est-ce que c’est?! We left feeling let down and taken...
