Paris Hidden Gem: Tonkatsu Tombo 🌟

Rarely do I dine in the 15th arrondissement ✨ unless it's a place with a reputation worth seeking out. Tonkatsu Tombo is one such spot. The exterior of this little shop is quite unassuming, with a sign at the door proudly declaring "No Sushi" – a quirky nod to their focus and a testament to their artisanal spirit. 🧑🏻‍🍳 As we settled in for lunch, a line quickly formed at the door, a testament to their popularity. We ordered a duo set, rich in variety: a piece of tonkatsu, a piece of chicken katsu, two shrimp 🍛, two potato croquettes 🥔, plus sides, rice, soup, noodles, and a choice of dessert. The chicken katsu was slightly drier than the tonkatsu, but overall, everything was crispy and delicious. We also tried the curry tonkatsu bowl and unagi bowl 🍱. The tonkatsu here is juicy and free of any porky aftertaste, and it doesn't feel greasy even after several pieces. The tempura was top-notch, so much so that my beloved unagi bowl seemed less impressive in comparison. A friend mentioned that the rose tonkatsu bowl is also a hit. When the place is busy and you don't want to wait, you can easily get your meal to-go. Before our meal, we had a little mishap that almost made us miss this gem. Fortunately, good food never fails to deliver. Here's to more delightful dining in 2025! 🥢 📍 Tonkatsu Tombo #Tonkatsu #Tempura #FoodieAdventures #ParisianEats #Paris #RestaurantHunt #JapaneseFoodParis #TravelParis #ParisLife #Foodie
