🌟 Paris Michelin One-Star 🌟

Michelin one-star Italian restaurant Penati al Baretto, located in the 7th arrondissement, offers a lunch set (without wine) at around 50+ per person, and dinner would be around 100+ per person. 🥨🧆 Two types of complimentary pre-meal snacks, thin crisps, long biscuits, and the restaurant's homemade bread, were very tasty. There was also a small bowl of extra virgin olive oil and two-year-aged Parmesan cheese to go with the bread. After eating this cheese, it felt like having a few sips of wine, a magical sensation. Between the two fried dishes: the fish one was better than the vegetarian one. 🫒 For appetizers, eggplant base + mixed melted cheese + Parmesan crumble + red sauce scored 6/10. The cheese was very rich, and the eggplant was oily and flat. Venetian-style marinated sardines + onion + corn pancake + raisins scored 7/10. The taste was quite good; it seemed the sardines weren't fully fried, and the bones were a bit hard. ⚠️ For those who are afraid of fish bones, avoid ordering this. 🍽️ For the main course, squid dumplings + cuttlefish and squid + cream red sauce scored 9/10. It was very delicious; the sauce was fresh, and the saltiness was just right—it was just very good. But it seems they have changed the menu again, and it's no longer available. There should be other even better dishes, like Italian meat rolls + green peas + white sauce scored 6/10. The sauce was a bit rich, and the filling was very salty. If it weren't so salty, it would be an 8. But the manager said this is the authentic taste of Italian cuisine. 🙂 🍧 For dessert, strawberries and raspberries with milk and a bit of cookie crumbs scored 8/10. It was very refreshing and homely, very relieving from the saltiness and richness. At the end, they also offer some post-meal petit fours (very sweet small cakes). Dining environment scored 4/10. It's a Michelin one-star environment, but our seats were near the door leading to the terrace. It was a bit cold that day, and despite asking several times if the door could be closed, they didn't. They said they would turn on the heater, and then it was warm on the face but cool on the back. 🙃 Summary: Overall, it was too salty and rich, not quite to our taste (maybe we didn't order well).
