Patwon Ki Haveli: The Golden City's Jewel
Built in 1805 and located in the city center✨, Patwon Ki Haveli is an imposing structure, particularly renowned for its exquisite carvings🖼️. It stands as one of the most luxurious high-rise buildings in the Golden City🏛️. The Patwon Mansion centers around a five-story main building🏢, complemented by three side wings, making it the grandest of all the havelis💎. This mansion was the private residence of the Patwa family👨👩👧👦, who were in the gold and silver embroidery business during the 18th century💰. No expense was spared in its construction—every inch is adorned with intricate relief carvings🔨. While its exterior is the most magnificent, part of the interior has now been converted into a museum🏛️. The cover photo features an ornately dressed street performer👑. The third image shows the entrance to the Patwon property—note how lavish their main gate is, with a balcony above it and a row of exquisitely carved Roman-style pillars lining the windows. A little girl waits for her father to take her to school🎒. When we took her photo📸, both she and her father politely paused and waited From the main street🛣️, the mansion's stone-carved balconies are clearly visible🏰. A shy Indian girl peeked out from behind a balcony door🚪, watching me take photos📷, but quickly hid🙈 when she noticed my camera pointing her way. #Kothari's Patwon Ki Haveli#Jaisalmer#india#travel guide#trip diary#india guide
