Pennsylvania|Lancaster Amish Village Day Trip 🏡
I’ve always been curious about Amish culture, and finally got to visit their village! (The Amish are a traditional Christian group known for their simple, technology-free lifestyle focused on farming and community support.) We drove northeast from Baltimore 🚗—took about an hour to reach Lancaster. 🧺 First stop: Lancaster Central Market Open only Tues, Fri & Sat from 6am–3pm They sell all kinds of food, drinks, household items, and fresh flowers 💐 You can even spot some Amish people selling goods there! We also wandered around the area—lots of cute little shops And stumbled upon a huge DIY bead store (The Beadworks) 🎨✨ super fun! 📌 Lancaster Central Market 📍 23 N Market St, Lancaster, PA 17603 Then we drove 30 mins to the Amish village in Ronks Joined two tours: 🏠 Old Windmill Farm — $30/person A real Amish-run farm Highly recommended for animal lovers! 🐄🐑🐖 We booked the Farm Fun Combo Tour online—lasted about 1.5–2 hours Activities include: Horse-drawn wagon ride + barrel train ride 🚂 Milking a cow 🥛 + feeding calves Holding bunnies 🐇 + chicks 🐤 Playing with piglets + lambs Collecting eggs + feeding horses 🐎 Picking fresh veggies in the garden 🥬 🏠 The Amish Village — $36/person This is a museum run by non-Amish people We got the Farmhouse + Backroads Bus Tour on-site The farmhouse was really interesting—they also have animals 🐐 It showcases real Amish living spaces and daily life A guide explains typical Amish homes and clothing The bus tour driver also shared lots about Amish culture and history 🚌📘 I loved this tour—so educational and worth it! 🍽️ Dinner at Dienner’s Country Restaurant All-you-can-eat American buffet — $16/person Waited about 15 mins for a table—very popular with locals We even saw Amish people working there 👩🌾 Traditional homestyle dishes—everything was tasty! They also had desserts and soups 🍲🍰 Overall, a highly recommended day trip! 👏 Perfect for culture, animals, and slow living 💛 #AmishPA #AmishCountry #AmishVillage #AmishCulture #AmishLife
