We’ve stayed at many AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts properties, and this one truly stands out as the best. The resort offered so many generous touches — from a welcome treat (delicious toffee and Italian Prosecco) to reusable water bottles, a room upgrade, and dining credits. 🍾🍫🎁 The restaurant menu was reasonably priced, and the quality of food and service more than justified it. Happy hour was fantastic — generous portions and great value. Breakfast included two adult buffet passes (worth $50 each) with a solid selection of high-quality options. Our two kids under 12 joined the buffet for just $19 each. 🍳🧇👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We didn’t use the kitchen, but it appeared well-stocked if you prefer cooking in. I must commend the hotel management — this is a well-run property where staff show genuine interest in guests rather than forced interaction. Unlike some resorts, everything at Ka La’i felt sincere and intentional. Many team members anticipated our needs before we even asked! 💫❤️ We also loved the concierge on the first floor — they helped our kids get set up with boogie boards and even provided a bag of towels. These complimentary amenities made up for the resort not being directly oceanfront. Beach chairs are available too! The public beach is just a short block away and was never crowded.
