Philadelphia’s Infinite Omakase Experience
Sakana Omakase Sushi 📍 616 S 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19147 This omakase in Philadelphia’s Old City is truly worth revisiting over and over again. The restaurant updates its menu quarterly with seasonal highlights. For example, the summer menu features an oyster uni shot (p2), a refreshing and sweet seafood shot that’s perfect for a quick bite. 🌟First and foremost, the fish slices here are large and thick, with a rich, sweet aftertaste. Some melt in your mouth, while others are delightfully chewy. The sea urchin is incredibly fresh and sweet, with a smooth texture that dissolves effortlessly. The chef is constantly experimenting with new original flavors and dishes, so there’s always a pleasant surprise with each visit. 🔹 The most memorable dish for me is the Double Toro, a signature creation featuring 50-day aged tuna belly mixed with finely chopped toro. This dish offers a unique, rich, and oily flavor that only comes with time. 🔹 Another standout is the scallop and sea urchin nigiri. The delicate texture of the scallop combined with the sweet sea urchin takes you back to the sunlit shallows of the ocean. The restaurant’s homemade yuzu soy sauce and scallion-ginger condiment are also impressive, adding an extra layer of flavor to the various types of fish. #Philadelphia #PhillyFood #PhillySushi #PhillyOmakase #PhillyLife #PhillyDining #PhillySushi #PhillyDateSpots #NYCGetaway #PhillyRestaurants
