Philadelphia | Mabu Kitchen - The Affordable French Cuisine Gem

🍸I give this restaurant two thumbs up! Sitting by the window, watching the passersby while enjoying the street view is a pleasure in itself. Before the menu change, the appetizers didn't really appeal to us, so we oddly ordered three main courses, and none of them disappointed, although the dishes were a bit slow in coming. 🍸The Ratatouille Provençal stew features a perfect blend of eggplant, zucchini, and tomatoes, served with sweet sweet potato puree and tangy tomato sauce, topped with cheese crumbs. Every bite is bursting with flavor, hitting the spot and making you want to eat it all up. By the time the waiter came to check on us, our plates were already clean. This is a must-order! 💃The confit duck leg comes with mushrooms, asparagus, and green peas, all coated in a rich sauce that is sweet but not cloying. The sweet potato puree adds to the texture, while the confit duck skin is crispy and not greasy at all. The meat is tender and not gamey. Duck lovers should definitely give this a try. The only minor drawback was a couple of duck feathers. ✨The lamb shank is a large piece. I usually avoid this dish because it's mostly lean meat and can be dry, but Mabu's version is stewed to perfection and has a great texture! It's served with risotto and fava beans that have a hint of smokiness and spices (I can't remember which ones). It's not greasy at all, so you can enjoy it without any worries! The mud cake is a brownie base made with Oreo crumbs, topped with chocolate mousse. It's quite sweet. I've heard that their brunch is also very delicious! I'll definitely come back next time. ✨We enjoyed a leisurely meal from evening until sunset. It was a very comfortable and happy dining experience. The pace was slow, the space was spacious, and there were no distractions or noise. The music was also very soothing. The only downside was that they don't have wine (bring your own bottle, BYOB), which was a bit of a pity. #Philadelphia #PhiladelphiaLife #AroundPhiladelphia #PhiladelphiaFood #StudyingInPhiladelphia #PhiladelphiaRestaurantHunting #TravelingInPhiladelphia
