Philadelphia | My Loup — This French Restaurant Designs Dishes

If you have an evening in Philly, start by asking My Loup if they have any last-minute spots (prime dinner times book up, so we snagged a 9 PM bar seat). Then head to Rittenhouse Square, find a bench, and people-watch for a bit. Around 7 PM, stroll over to The Ranstead Room for a casual drink (no wait on weekdays if you go early). By 8 or 9 PM, My Loup starts to quiet down — and that’s when the magic begins. 🌟 The menu changes daily (their website isn’t always updated), but classics remain. 🌟 If you don’t want mains filling you up, order more appetizers to explore different flavors. 🦪 Razor Clam with Cashew – Simply stunning. A must-order (pricey but one-of-a-kind flavor). 🟡 Urchin Sweet Potato – Sea urchin over sweet potato purée — words can’t do it justice. Another must. These two alone made the wait on the bench totally worth it. 🐟 Fluke with Radish – Refreshing, but less wow compared to the first two (still great for raw fish lovers). 🐌 Snail Roll – $14 – Packed with snail meat, garlicky bread — carbs done right! Share one between two. 🦢 Foie Gras with Fried Chicken Skin – Cholesterol heaven. Rich and generous — perfect for sharing. 🥩 Cold Roast Beef with Celery – Healthy but not as memorable as earlier dishes. 🍫 Chocolate Cake – Delicious and not overly sweet — a treat for chocolate lovers, but not life-changing. Near closing, they gifted us a caramel cream pudding — essentially leftover cream + caramel sauce. The cream was incredible 🤤. Moral: try any dessert with their cream! The restaurant’s name means “my wolf” in French — also the nickname of the chef and owner’s dachshund. You’ll spot little dachshund touches throughout the menu. Wrote so much because it’s truly worth it. 📍 My Loup 2005 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA #Philadelphia #LifeInNorthAmerica #PhillyFood #PhillyLife #PhillyEats #FrenchCuisine
