Philadelphia | One-Day City Walk Route – This Guide Has You Covered! ‼
Philadelphia’s downtown isn’t big—you can walk to all major attractions in one day! I’ve put together a no-backtracking walking route for you to copy-paste directly (it even includes must-try eats 😋)! Recommended Route 👍 (Walk the Whole Way!) 1️⃣ Philadelphia City Hall Construction started in 1871 and took 30 years to finish (completed in 1901). It’s the largest, tallest, and most expensive city hall in the U.S.—its grand architecture is hard to miss! Don’t forget to snap a photo of the William Penn statue on top 🏛️. 2️⃣ Independence Hall | The Spot on the $100 Bill This is where the Declaration of Independence was drafted—a symbol of American independence! You can book tickets in advance or buy them on-site. Standing inside the room where history was made feels so surreal 🇺🇸💵. 3️⃣ Liberty Bell This famous bell weighs over 900 kg and is housed in a pavilion on Independence Square. Admission is free, but you’ll need to go through a quick security check. Its iconic crack is a must-see—don’t skip the photo op! 🛎️ 4️⃣ Benjamin Franklin Statue | Also on the $100 Bill We searched for this forever and finally asked a local to find it! For easy navigation, head to Philadelphia Fire Department | Engine 8 Ladder 2—the statue is right next to this fire station. A classic stop for history fans 🧠. 5️⃣ Betsy Ross House Home to the American craftsman who made the first U.S. flag 🇺🇸! There’s America’s oldest gift shop here—great for picking up fridge magnets or souvenirs to take home 🧲. 6️⃣ Philadelphia’s Century-Old Ice Cream Shop 🍦 | The Franklin Fountain The ice cream here is delicious—you’ll need to wait in a short line, but it’s worth it! I’ve included the menu (in the original post) so you can pick your favorite flavor ahead of time. Try the rum raisin or vanilla—creamy perfection! 7️⃣ Elfreth’s Alley America’s oldest continuously inhabited street! After grabbing ice cream, swing by here for a stroll. The 18th-century red-brick houses are so charming—like stepping into a time capsule 🕰️. 8️⃣ Chinatown There are tons of Chinese restaurants here—search on Dazhongdianping (Dianping) for recommendations! We tried Vietnamese pho, and it was tasty. A great spot to refuel after a day of walking 🍜. 👍 Bonus: Philadelphia’s Signature Food – Cheesesteak We went to a super famous spot inside a market—highly recommend you try it! 🧭 Location: Reading Terminal Market Grab a cheesesteak with melted Cheez Whiz (the classic way) – it’s a Philly staple you can’t miss! 🥩 That’s all the main food, fun, and sights in Philadelphia! Follow this route, and hope you make wonderful memories in Philly 🥳! #Philadelphia #PhiladelphiaOneDayTrip #EastCoastTravel #NewYork #IndependenceHall #Philadelphia #PhiladelphiaCheckIn
