Philadelphia | Tomo’s Salmon Don is Delightful
Today, I’m here to recommend a hidden gem of a Japanese restaurant in Philadelphia’s Old City—Tomo! Their salmon rice bowl is truly one of the best I’ve ever had. Their Salmon Don is just amazing! This was our first time dining in, as we’ve been ordering takeout from them for a while, and we always make sure to get the Salmon Don! 🍣 Salmon Don This salmon rice bowl is incredibly satisfying! A large bowl of rice is topped with five different types of salmon sashimi, totaling over 10 slices of salmon sashimi. It’s truly a feast! The salmon is incredibly tender and smooth, super fresh, with no fishy odor at all, especially the salmon toro (fatty belly)! It’s outstanding! And the price is very reasonable at just $25 per bowl. The value for money is super high! 🐟 Sashimi Deluxe We also tried their Sashimi Deluxe this time, which is priced at $40 and features a combination of eight different types of sashimi. Overall, it was quite good. For us, sashimi without any fishy smell is a sign of freshness! Our favorite was, again, the salmon toro. The meat is so fatty and melts in your mouth. It’s truly top-notch! However, the restaurant has other dishes as well. We’ve been sticking to sashimi, but next time, we’ll definitely try their sushi and ramen. Just a little side note: when we dined in, there were quite a few older patrons. 📍 228 Arch St, Philadelphia, PA 19106 #PhiladelphiaFood #SalmonRice #JapaneseCuisineExploration #Tomo
