Find Things to DoFind The Best Restaurants

Philadelphia | Vedge Vegetarian Restaurant

🥪I was pleasantly surprised by Vedge. I chose the tasting menu and was extremely full afterward—it’s rare to find a restaurant that does Asian fusion well. 🌟My favorite was the charcuterie board (pictured third). Each item had a unique flavor with rich herbs. 🌟However, the vegetarian fondue with kimchi was a bit too much for me; it was so sour it made my palate tingle. The Korean chili sauce in the first picture was just spicy without much flavor, and while the tofu and porridge underneath were delicious, they would have been better without the sauce. 🎨I’m still far from becoming a vegetarian, and this meal didn’t quite fuel me for a long city walk. 🍕The food was good, the drinks were great, and the space was unique. Located in an old house on Locust Street, the bar and two dining areas maintain a restrained elegance without any ostentatious “modern” elements, yet they are warm, beautiful, and tasteful. The menu changes monthly, reimagined with seasonal ingredients and creativity. I would recommend giving it a try—it’s better than similar places like Bloom in Chicago, but I probably won’t be going back a second time. #Philadelphia #StillHungry #VeganNotMyThing #MyIssue
