Philadelphia Filipino Kamayan Feast | Perla 🍚✨

A true hands-on dining experience in South Philly β€” food served directly on banana leaves! Fixed menu, $50 per person. Portions are generous β€” two of us got a whole grilled fish, half a roast chicken, plenty of lechon (roast pork), 8 spring rolls, rice, and curry β€” still had leftovers to take home. We were drawn by the kamayan (hand-eating) style β€” after hiking, we craved something wild and hearty. Loved not having to order β€” so effortless! The pre-meal bread was incredibly soft and tasty πŸ˜‹. Then the server lays down rice, pours curry over it, and arranges spring rolls, roast chicken, fish, and lechon on top. Time to dig in with your hands! I loved the curry β€” flavorful sauce with tender, well-cooked veggies. Mixed with rice, it was addictive. Eating with hands was fun but a bit messy β€” definitely missed my spoon and chopsticks at times πŸ₯’. The lechon skin was super crispy! My partner’s favorite was the roast chicken β€” rated it as good as Costco’s famous rotisserie chicken πŸ—πŸ˜‚. Dessert was a chocolate mousse β€” sweet, smooth, and a nice finish to the meal. Overall, a successful and satisfying experience β€” food quality and quantity were worth the price. Would love if they offered the curry rice as a standalone dish next time! #Philadelphia #PhillyFood #Kamayan #HandEatingFeast #FilipinoFood #PerlaPhilly πŸƒβœ‹
