Philadelphia Food|Royal Izakaya – The Best Omakase in Town 🍣
After lots of effort and many hit-or-miss experiences, I’ve finally found amazing omakase in Philly! I tried their izakaya à la carte menu earlier, and this time managed to book their omakase — and wow, it’s really good. But it’s also really hard to get a spot — I snagged a canceled reservation around midnight! 💰 Price: $160 per person for omakase + drinks & dessert brought the total to ~$220 per person. Not cheap, but good value for the quality — truly top-tier flavor. 🌟 Highlights: The sushi chef is a cheerful Japanese-American guy — super friendly service vibes. There were about 4–5 assistants in the kitchen, almost more staff than customers — fun atmosphere! Extremely fresh ingredients. They didn’t specify origins, but every piece tasted premium — on par with some NYC Michelin-starred spots. The full set was 16 nigiri + hand roll — you won’t leave hungry. A curious note: there were no appetizers, no dessert, and no “grand finale” unagi — just straight into the first piece of sushi. But with generous portions and great taste, it didn’t really matter. Special shoutout to the samma (saury) and several tuna pieces — exceptionally rich and delicious! Also, the hotate with truffle was loaded with truffle — they weren’t stingy at all 😋. Overall, a super satisfying meal. With travel limited lately, this is my new go-to for high-end sushi in Philly. Only small drawback — no included dessert — but you can order it separately. Highly recommended — will definitely return many times! #PhillyEats #Omakase #RoyalIzakaya #SushiHeaven #FineDining #PhillyFoodie 🥢✨🇯🇵
