Philadelphia Food | Is This the Best Braised Pork Rice in Philly?

🌟I don’t mean to be rude, but this is just the honest opinion of a casual traveler. If you have a different view, just ignore me. A few days ago, I visited Philadelphia with a friend and wanted to try some delicious food. I searched online and found this place with a huge reputation—Ho Sai Gai Restaurant , which is supposed to be so good that people drive there just to eat their braised pork rice. So, we decided to give it a try. 🌟After we got there, I really felt... It’s not cheap, and it’s not delicious. In fact, it’s quite bad. I just feel sorry for the people living in Philadelphia who have to eat this. When we walked in, the owner smiled and asked, “Hello, can we serve you some green tea?” We said, “Sure, that’s fine.” And then... there was a $2.50 tea fee. 😃 🌟We arrived at around 11:30 a.m., and the restaurant was completely empty. Looking at the menu, the prices were quite high—almost all the dishes were in the teens to twenties. So, we ordered two servings of braised pork rice. I think it was $16 or $15, I can’t remember exactly. 🌟Then... I really don’t understand. The rice was Thai long-grain rice, which, to be honest, didn’t taste good. The braising sauce was very salty. For someone who doesn’t like salty food, I didn’t feel any of the “delicious beyond words” that people mentioned online. 🌟On the day we went, the rice was undercooked... I saw some people say it was “distinct grains,” but of course it was distinct—because it was undercooked! I really don’t know if we just had bad luck that day, or if it’s always like this. I really had to force myself to eat it for my $16. I’d say this is the worst braised pork rice I’ve ever had. #PhillyLife #BraisedPorkRice #PhillyFood #PhillyExploration #Philadelphia
