Philadelphia Food β Amada: A Spanish Tapas Spot with Hits & Misses π€
π² I visited during Restaurant Week. Only the Restaurant Week menu was available β no Γ la carte β so the selection was limited. π² High EQ: Every flavor is taken to the extreme. Low EQ: Sour enough to make your teeth ache, salty enough to dehydrate you, sweet enough to send you into a sugar coma. π² Ensalada Verde β A green salad. The dressing was nice β avocado and seasoning balanced the bitterness of the frisΓ©e well. But as you can see in Photo 1β¦ no matter how good, itβs still just a bowl of greens π₯. π² Gambas Al Ajillo β The suffering began with this dish. Garlic shrimp drowned in lemon juice β no garlic flavor, no shrimp taste, just pure, intense lemon sourness ππ₯. And the bread on the side? Hard as a brick 𧱠β impossible to dip in the oily, sour sauce without making it worse. π² Arroz Temporado β DELICIOUS!! This cheesy risotto was amazing. I skipped the seafood paella after hearing it comes without seafood, and chose this instead. The diced veggies mixed perfectly with the rice, and the subtle truffle aroma was lovely. β π² EntrecΓ΄te β Listed as steak on the menu, but what arrived was more like chewing gum π₯©π. Every piece was tough, and it was extremely salty. I downed almost three glasses of water just to finish it. π² Arroz Con Leche β Rice pudding. Served in a tiny dipping-sauce dish (like from a hot pot joint π²). The "coffee caramel sauce" tasted purely like caramel β no coffee flavor β so it was overly sweet. Thankfully the portion was small, so not much was wasted. π² Service was great β water refills were prompt π§. Parking is street parking nearby, which wasnβt too hard to find. π 217 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 #PhillyFood #AmadaPhilly #SpanishTapas #RestaurantWeek #HitOrMiss #FoodReview #PhillyEats
