Philadelphia Food Exploration | Thai Restaurant I Chose for Its Name
🌟 A couple of days ago, after having dessert, I was too lazy to cook and suddenly craved something sour. So, I set my sights on Thai food. After a quick search that took about ten minutes, I decided to come here. Mainly because the name of the restaurant rolls off the tongue. You know what I mean? 🌟 I’m not saying this place is super delicious. It’s just a spot you can visit when you have no idea what to eat. It’s not expensive and not bad either. It’s a family-owned shop run by an elderly Thai couple. 🌟 The restaurant is located downtown. As soon as I walked in and saw the mishmash of Asian elements, I didn’t expect it to be an authentic Thai place. How to put it? The owners must really love collecting stuff! 🌟 Their Thai tea is actually pretty good, just a bit on the sweet side. When I asked if they could make it less sweet, the waiter honestly told me, “This isn’t made in-house. It’s bought from outside and just poured out.” Fair enough. Since you’re being honest, I’ll give it a try. Apart from being a bit too sweet, the taste is really nice! The condensed milk flavor is very fragrant! 🌟 The Thai sausage is a bit gamey, but it’s okay when eaten with sticky rice. It’s a love-hate feeling. It reminds me a bit of Sichuan cured sausage. 🌟 The Tom Yum soup isn’t sour enough, and the salad is also on the sweet side. It feels like they’re catering to American tastes. Everything is just a tad too sweet. But it’s acceptable. By the way, I’m someone who really loves sour flavors. 🌟 The best dish here is the curry beef with coconut milk! You can also choose shrimp. They really give a generous portion of broccoli. Dipping it in the sauce is really good! 🌟 Mango sticky rice is something I always order when I have Thai food. They give a good amount of mango, and it’s not overly sweet. I’d give this 4 out of 5 points! #PhillyFood #PhillyLiving #PhillyExploration #UniversityOfPennsylvania
