Philadelphia Omakase Review | Hiroki

One of Philly’s top high-end Japanese omakase spots. 🏠 Restaurant: Hiroki 💰 Price: $155 per person + mandatory 20% tip = $185+ 📍 Address: 1355 N Front St, Philadelphia, PA 19122 Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve only been twice, but overall the appetizers and hot dishes are the highlights — creative, unique, and change with each visit. The sushi nigiri is solid but more classic — no flashy toppings, just pure, clean flavors that let the ingredients shine. For example, their toro selection is rich and buttery without being overly fatty or greasy — a delicate balance not every place gets right! The only letdowns: desserts and some appetizers lack the same creative flair in presentation. But the simple tamago (egg omelette) is incredibly delicious. If you enjoy sake, the $65 sake pairing is a great add-on — you can choose your own cup and enjoy six different sakes paired with the menu. Compared to budget omakase spots with time limits, Hiroki is perfect for special occasions — birthdays, anniversaries, dates. Servers explain each course one-on-one, the 20-course meal is about 25% more generous than cheaper omakase options, and the creativity in hot dishes, chef’s background, and refined ambiance set it apart. Chef Hiroki Fujiyama worked at Morimoto for over a decade (and now reportedly runs a new spot in Chicago!). Attention to detail is everywhere — from the imported Japanese Toto Neorest heated toilet to the miniature cityscape sculpture by Drew Leshko on the sushi counter wall, the photography by French artist Charles Fréger, and custom-designed dining chairs. A truly thoughtful restaurant. #FoodReview #Omakase #JapaneseCuisine #FineDining #HiddenGem #TravelFoodie #PhillyEats
