Philadelphia Restaurant Review | Vernick — Food That Rivals the Drinks

Vernick Food & Drink — part of the Vernick hospitality group — serves creative New American cuisine. The menu is concise, but the drink list is extensive. Recommended by a colleague, and we loved it! 🍽 Atmosphere The first floor has a bar, while the second floor feels cozy with low ceilings and spaced-out seating — perfect for dates or intimate conversations. My partner and I aren’t big drinkers, but the cocktails we tried were layered and delicious. Many guests enjoy a drink or two, or share a bottle of wine. Once you order, they bring a complimentary snack: a small cracker with a sip of soup — ginger-spiced and so comforting in winter.😍💕 🍽 The Food Even with a small menu, we enjoyed everything from starters to dessert.💕😂 We ordered: Oysters & Grilled Beef Short Rib (small plates)👍😘 Roasted Sea Bass & Half Roasted Chicken (mains) Brown Sugar Financier & a ginger-infused mousse/pudding (desserts) Each dish had great depth of flavor. The chicken was incredibly tender, the sea bass fresh and delicate — the quality of ingredients really shone through. 🍽 Final Thoughts Highly recommend Vernick for a date night or casual drinks. While it’s not always easy to book (plan ahead!), you don’t always have to chase the impossible Zahav reservation — Philly has plenty of consistently excellent hidden gems like this one. #PhillyEats #DateNight #Vernick #NewAmerican #CocktailBar #HiddenGem #FoodieReview 🥂
