Philly 🦞 Tasty Peruvian Food – Great Value for Money! 😋

Recently into seafood 🦞 and totally loving Peruvian cuisine. Met up with a long-time-no-see friend in Philly and tried this hidden gem in Old City. 🍴 Vista Peru 📍 20 S 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19106, United States Went on a Sunday around 1 PM—plenty of empty tables. Appetizers: We ordered crab causa and grilled beef heart. Both were delicious! The beef heart was tender with a Chinese-style seasoning (maybe cumin?). Slight offal taste but totally acceptable for us. The causa—a Peruvian specialty with mashed potatoes, avocado, and crab salad—was refreshing and appetizing 🤤. Mains: 🦐 Jalea Mixta – Mixed fried seafood (shrimp, fish, squid, mussels) topped with tangy spicy onion and tomato salad. Tasty, but the topping made the seafood less crispy—skip if you prefer crunchy fried food. 🍚 Arroz con Mariscos – Seafood rice, big portion. Lighter and less oily than Spanish paella, decent but not mind-blowing. Good value though! 🍗 Quarter Roast Chicken – Looked simple but was surprisingly tender and well-seasoned. We even wanted more after finishing! Came with fries (could’ve been crispier). Overall, the flavors were solid and the price was great—around $40 per person for three people. Service was friendly—they even changed our plates after appetizers! The atmosphere is casual, but the food and service make it worth it. #Philly #PhillyFood #InternationalStudentEats #PeruvianCuisine #PhillyLife #StudyAbroadEats
