Philly BYOB Italian Food Roundup ๐
A quick recap of two small but excellent Italian spots in central Philly โ both BYOB (bring your own wine) and perfect for pasta lovers. Average cost: $30โ50 per person. One is great for pre-shopping, the other near the river for a post-meal walk โ and theyโre actually not far apart! ๐ Luna BYOB Cozy and homey with warm decor (loved the leather lamp!). Small space โ reserve ahead for peak times. We sat by the window with a lovely view. Service was attentive despite only one older server taking orders. ๐ Specials change often โ we tried the daily special spaghetti and squid ink pasta. Both delicious โ noodles are cooked softer, soaking up the sauce beautifully. Shrimp was incredibly tender. ๐ฎ Crรจme brรปlรฉe was solid. ๐ Next to Rittenhouse Square โ perfect for strolling and shopping afterward. Right beside the famous 1-900-ICE CREAM ๐ฆ (my go-to for cone desserts โ see past posts!). ๐ก Ambrosia A local favorite โ weโve been countless times! Larger space (indoor, upstairs, patio), but still busy โ reservations recommended. ๐ฆ Squid ink spaghetti is their signature โ mind-blowing on first try! Rich tomato sauce and chewy calamari โ a must-order. ๐ All pastas here are reliable, and entrees like lamb and duck are great too. ๐ Mussels appetizer is a hidden treasure โ honestly the best weโve had in Philly! (Right up there with Parcโs escargot in the Rittenhouse area ๐.) ๐จ Desserts at Ambrosia outshine Lunaโs โ loved their apple cider gelato (when available) and crรจme brรปlรฉe (consistently excellent). ๐ง The burrata was just okay โ tomatoes were nice, but I order it everywhere out of habit ๐ . #PhillyEats #BYOB #ItalianFood #PhillyFood #LunaBYOB #AmbrosiaPhilly #PastaLover
