šPhilly Chinatown | Real Talk on Henan Snacks š²
If youāve been in Philly for more than a day, youāve probably noticed this bright sign in Chinatown. The shop says āHenan Snacks ā Hui Mian & Lamb Soup,ā but some say it used to be called āLanzhou Noodles.ā Then again, fusion among Chinese restaurants in the U.S. is nothing new š āeither way, youāll find everything from hand-pulled noodles to Fuzhou-style chow fun here. š Rib Clay Pot (Pai Gu Sha Guo) Looks like their signature dish! They did NOT skimp on the ribsāloaded with tofu skin, seaweed, vermicelli, and cabbage. I asked for extra spice and cilantro, and the chili oil they packed was legit fragrant š¶ļøāØ. š² Lamb Soup Milky-white broth, flavor was decent, and againā¦so much lamb! š š„ Roujiamo (Chinese Burger) Generous filling, though it arrived lukewarm (my bad for ordering takeout). Probably way better heated up! š„¤ Soy Milk Just a heads-upāit comes sweetened by default. š Hand-Pulled Noodles Letāsā¦just skip this one. The vibe inside is simple, no-frills, fast-casual style. Prices are around $10ā13 per personāsolid value for a quick, filling meal. š¼ Thereās a $9.99 lamb soup + roujiamo combo on Panda, plus other meal deals, and you can even stack a š§§ discount! For us hard-working folks just trying to switch up the lunch routine? Canāt complain! #ChineseFood #PhillyChinatown #PhillyEats #ComfortFoodGlobalEdition
