🦆 Philly Duck Must-Eat List

Visited Forsythia, a French restaurant on the east side of Philly. This time, we went for the chef’s menu — dishes are completely up to the chef’s mood. We even asked the server what we’d be getting, and they genuinely didn’t know (not sure if that’s part of the marketing strategy 😅). ⭐ Bread service — served with sweet potato spread. Each side of the bread had a different flavor — one side was especially fragrant. ⭐ Cocktail — pretty to look at, but taste was just okay and a bit strong. ⭐ Snails — came here specifically for these! Flavorful with plenty of delicious sauce. ⭐ Frog legs — basically like Chinese-style bullfrog legs — crispy outside, tender inside. A must-try! ⭐ Tuna mousse served on squid ink shrimp crackers — tuna was great, but the crackers were a bit tough to chew. ⭐ Chilled tomato soup — refreshing and appetizing. ⭐ Main: Duck leg — the star of the meal! They also offer a whole duck for $140. The duck leg was perfectly cooked, served with foie gras base and cherries 🍒. ⭐ Desserts — banana mousse with chocolate, and cookie cake with ice cream. The cookie was a bit sweet, but the cake was delicious and beautifully plated. ⭐ Peeked around — seems like each table’s chef’s menu might vary slightly! 📍 233 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19105 #Foodie #PhillyEats #HiddenGem #UPenn #UPennStudent #FrenchCuisine #DuckLovers
