Philly Food Explore ๐ฐ I Tried These 5 Hidden Gem Dessert Spots for Yo
After posting so many Philly food reviews, I realized Iโve never shared dessert spots โ so hereโs a big roundup ๐, all honest reviews! (PS: I have high standards for desserts โ canโt be too sweet ๐ ) ๐ซ๐ท Jโaime French Bakery Rating: ๐๐๐๐๐ Stumbled upon this French patisserie while walking. Tried their Napoleon and brownie ๐ซ โ possibly the best cakes Iโve ever had! The Napoleon cream was light and rich, not overly sweet. The brownie was even more impressive โ like raw chocolate in the middle, super smooth. Highly recommend โจ. ๐ฅ Essen Bakery Rating: ๐๐๐๐ Corner bakery in South Philly, famous for their chocolate croissant and cinnamon bun. The croissant is crispy outside, fluffy inside, with strong chocolate flavor โ loved it! The cinnamon bun was just okay โ too sweet for me ๐ . ๐ฎ๐น Isgro Pastries Rating: ๐๐๐๐๐ Opened in 1904 โ a Philly icon for Italian pastries. I tried tiramisu, Ricotta strawberry cheesecake, and Cannoli โ no misses! The Cannoli (their signature) has a crispy shell and creamy filling. The cheesecake is rich, topped with glazed strawberries for a sweet-tangy balance. Tiramisu cream was a bit over-whipped โ gets heavy. ๐ฐ Cake and Joe Rating: ๐๐๐ Specializes in French mousse cakes โ each looks gorgeous. I tried passion fruit and Oreo mousse. Oreo is always good; passion fruit was uniquely tangy. The mousse texture was a bit dry, but the cafe vibe is nice โ worth a visit. ๐ง Oui Rating: ๐๐๐๐ Small dessert shop in Old City โ cheesecake is their star, with various flavors and cheese styles. Cheesecake lovers, donโt miss it! ๐ Tip: Some close early โ check Google Maps before going! #PhillyEats #Philly #PhillyLife #HiddenGemDesserts #StudyInUSA #FoodExplore ๐ฎ๐ซโจ
