Philly Mediterranean Spot|Dizengoff 🫓✨

Went to Aba in Chicago and haven’t stopped thinking about it — so today I tried the “budget version” in Philly at Dizengoff. First off, the pita was still soft and tasty — but missing a bit of that smoky charred flavor 🔥. 🧆 Hummus Tehina The flavor profile was surprisingly complex — tasted like a mix of tahini, pesto, and cumin. Interesting! 🥩 Yerushalmi Minced beef + pine nuts stewed and mixed into hummus. Would’ve been even better with a touch of sweetness to round it out. 🌯 Moroccan Cigar Beef spring rolls! The wrapper was super thin — maybe a tad too oily. The beef filling had cumin notes, and the rolls themselves were savory — luckily the sweet sauce around them helped cut through the grease. 🐟 Za’atar Seared Tuna Fresh tuna, lightly seared on both sides, sliced thin. Tasted like it was marinated beforehand — slight tanginess. Served over chopped kale, olives, and shug sauce — strong lemon and herbaceous notes throughout. 🍖 Slow-roasted Lamb Neck Lamb neck with chicory (aka that fake baby bok choy 😂) — the chicory was SO bitter! Topped with roasted pistachio bits and sesame. Lamb itself was seasoned savory + cumin, but there was a light sweet glaze — menu said maybe date molasses? The meat was fall-apart tender after braising then roasting — and zero gamey taste. MVP of the meal 🏆. 🍗 Za’atar Roast Chicken Served with arugula in vinaigrette, super tangy pickled red onion slices, and crispy fried garlic chips. Juicy chicken! Super aromatic! ❌ Cod Chraime 😅 Fish was bitter. Chili was mouth-on-fire spicy. Fried scallions were bland. Don’t order this one. #PhillyEats #StudentFoodAdventures #PhillyFoodFinds #PhillyLife 🫒
