Philly Visit|Barclay Prime — The Acclaimed Steakhouse 🥩✨
A few weeks ago, friends and I tried dinner at The Love. While tasty, their mains are pretty carb-heavy — felt like we needed a real meat feast. With several friends raving about this spot, two hungry girls made a beeline here 😋. Didn’t snap the bread basket, but it was crisp outside, soft inside. Still, the best complimentary bread in Philly for me is at Butcher and Singer — last time three of us demolished two baskets! 🦪 Oysters on the Half Shell — super fresh, and the mignonette sauce was the star. 🐟 Tuna Tartare — presentation reminded me of Pokémon’s Lombre 😅 — flavor was fine. Most memorable tartare I’ve had was at MOYO in Hong Kong (note to self ✍️). 🍸 Cocktails — we only ordered two since we had to go home and gloomily send out resumes later. The server recommended sweeter ones: Metropolitano and Love Portion #9. I preferred the latter — tangy and refreshing. 🥩 Porterhouse (Medium Rare) — highly recommended, and we devoured it! So satisfying to indulge in good meat. 🥔 Sides Ranking: Truffle Whipped Potatoes Creamed Spinach Kennett Square Mushrooms The server said sides are large and one would be enough to share… but we ended up adding the potatoes anyway. Guess two hungry girls just emerged from a famine 😂. 🍫 Black Forest Mousse — sadly, looks as unappealing as it tasted. Sour cherries + bitter chocolate — weird whether eaten separately or together. Surprised such a classic dessert missed the mark. In Philly, I’ve also tried Alpen Rose and Butcher & Singer. Personally: ✅ Barclay Prime and Butcher & Singer are both worth visiting. ➖ Alpen Rose falls slightly short — quality has felt inconsistent on my visits. All three have great ambiance and service, though Barclay and Butcher are a bit louder, while Alpen Rose is quieter. #Steakhouse #Philly #PhillyEats #VibeDining #UpscaleRestaurant #MeatLovers 🍷🔪💫
