Pittsburgh! Heads up—hidden map events can trigger randomly! 🗺️✨

Continuing our East Coast road trip 🚗! This time we’ve arrived in a city where Google Maps loves to take you on unexpected detours 😅 ☀️ Morning | Brunch + Halls of Knowledge 🍞 La Gourmandine Bakery 🍳 The Speckled Egg Started the morning with ☕️🥐 from La Gourmandine—a beloved local French-style spot. Pretty tasty! 🤔 Wanted to try The Speckled Egg for brunch, but ⚠️ closed on Mondays. 📍Carnegie Mellon University 📍University of Pittsburgh Strolled around CMU and Pitt after eating. Must-see at CMU: the “Walking to the Sky” sculpture 🎈! The graffiti wall was just okay though. At Pitt, the 📍Cathedral of Learning is seriously impressive! The Gothic architecture is grand and dramatic—go inside to feel the full “Harry Potter” vibes 🧙‍♂️. 🍽️ Lunch | Black Truffle & Ham Wood-Fired Pizza OR Uzbek Cuisine Global foodie? Go for 🍕! Craving homestyle flavors? Try 🍗! (Word limit reached 👀—review coming in the next post 😬) 🏛 Afternoon | Art & Culture 📍Strip District 🥫 Senator John Heinz History Center 🏫 Andy Warhol Museum Spent the afternoon exploring the Strip District, then headed to the Heinz History Center. One floor is entirely dedicated to the history of ketchup—super fun and educational 🤳. Art lovers should check out the 📍Andy Warhol Museum. It’s still under renovation so some iconic works aren’t on display, but the curation and atmosphere are still 💯—great intro to pop art! 🌅 Evening | City Views + Dinner ⛲️ Point State Park 🚠 Duquesne Incline Caught the golden hour at Point State Park where three rivers meet 🌊, then hopped on the Duquesne Incline cable car 🚠. Only $2.50 one-way! Watch the city light up at sunset from above—the vintage wooden cable car adds so much charm. For dinner, Pusadee’s Garden is a top pick, but reservations are hard to snag—recommend booking two weeks ahead or lining up 30 mins early (review coming soon 😬). Pittsburgh is perfect for travelers who love “slow-paced but deeply layered” urban explorations. The mix of historic districts and modern neighborhoods serves both culture and cozy vibes. One day here lets you taste so many sides of the city! #GlobalEats #Pittsburgh #PittsburghFood #PittsburghLife #CMU #CMU24 #Pitt #UniversityOfPittsburgh #CarnegieMellon #FoodieAdventures 🌎🍴
