Pretty solid spot for donuts. They have many of the classic donuts in their little format, but I decided if I was to order from this place, I wanted to try their interesting varieties, the funkadelic donuts. I tried so many different flavors, so I’ll just give a brief overview of each of them.
Cherry pie - very nice and a classic. The cherries are super sweet and the donut itself is well made, balanced, but probably too sweet for many.
Boston cream - another classic. Well made but I would have liked some more cream.
Cookie dough - ordered this one but I don’t think I received it.
Robert brûlée - one of my favorite ones. Great cream, and a nice sugary topping. Also one of the more unique and interesting ones.
Strawberries and cream - nice one. I like coating on top. Not any real strawberries on this one though.
Cherry cheesecake - similar to cherry pie in flavor, a slightly different almost graham cracker coating.
Caramel macchiato - not a ton of caramel and almost no coffee at all, but some chocolate pieces on top.
S’mores - my least favorite one. Artificial tasting chocolate, almost like Hershey syrup but lower quality. Not much flavor.
Coffee and cream - similar low quality tasting chocolate with it. Not much of a coffee flavor.
M and M - quite good. A nice crunch on the donut and plenty of M and Ms.
The donuts themselves are obviously small. You can finish them in two or three bites. Price is a little high as well. Their outside has a nice little crunch but the inside can be pretty dry.
All in all, an okay donut shop. Kind of gimmicky, but still, decent. I probably would t seek it out but some of their donuts are definitely better...
Read moreThe only downside to Peace, Love, & Little Donuts is that they aren't open 24/7. I seriously can't get enough of them. Despite their small size, these donuts pack a punch. There is a huge selection of different flavors and toppings, and they come in boxes if you want a better deal - great to get with friends. Additionally, PL&LD sells coffee, and chilled drinks. While there is some seating in the shop, it is more-so a place to go in, get your donuts, and enjoy them elsewhere. This is simply because of the size of the shop, not because of the atmosphere, which is upbeat, and completely embraces its 1970s aesthetic. The line to get donuts is efficient, and doesn't leave you feeling like your time is being wasted. They even have dog-treat flavored donuts, so if you have a hungry pooch, she can get her donut fill just like you. For yourself, definitely go for one of their seasonal flavors.
The staff has always been helpful and kind. Multiple times I've been waiting in line, and been given a donut for free just to try out. If you like homemade donuts that are different from your basic Krispy Kreme, check out Peace, Love &...
Read moreSo I'm delivering a load to a Restraunt Depot in Pittsburgh. My load doesn't deliver until Monday and it's early morning Sunday. I decided I wanted to try a local spot, but everything seemed a little far for walking distance. So I pulled up my Door Dash looking for some breakfast and stumbled upon Peace Love and Little Donuts. Let me tell you, BEST choice I've made in 2022. They were still warm when they got to my truck!?!? I ordered a dozen variety of the Funkadelic Donuts. How do you keep a variety pack fresh!?!?! I get fresh donuts and add toppings, but even the toppings tasted like they were just batched up this morning. The cookies weren't stale, the apple and strawberries didn't have that overly sweet process taste, everything was just freaking amazing. My only regret was not walking the mile to get them, because Lord knows imma need to walk that mile after eating them. It was just so damn good. Samoa hands down has to be my favorites. I hope you guys update your Door Dash menu in the future, because I would have loved to try the Bacon Maple. It was...
