Pittsburgh Food Find 🇫🇷 This Table Was All About the Baguette! 🥖
Annual visit to Poulet Bleu ✅ I always prefer their small plates over the grandes—much more fun to share! Wrote about them earlier this year, but here’s a fresh take~ Every small plate we ordered came with baguette—some toasted crisp, some warm and chewy 🥖 Both textures worked perfectly with different dishes. Loved it! ✨ Steak Tartare Shaved Parmesan on top—unexpected but delicious with raw beef 🐄 Tender, flavorful beef + crispy baguette = a win! 🐌 Escargot Classic French snails—small but soaked in amazing garlic-herb butter 💛 Don’t waste that butter—dip that baguette in it! Pure indulgence (and calories 😆). ✨ Liver Pâté A mix of duck and chicken liver—rich, smooth, and deeply savory 🦆🐔 Came in a generous jar—enough for 2-4 people! 🐚 Mussels A must-order every time—cooked in white wine, fragrant and plump 🍶 Although it’s a “small plate,” the portion is huge. Can easily be a main! We shared one main and one side since we ordered so many starters: ✨ Roasted Duck My favorite main—tender, juicy duck breast 🦆 This time served with creamy spinach and barley (their sides change seasonally—last time it was sweet potato mash and red rice! Fruits also vary—last time kumquats, this time sweet grapes 🍇). 🥕 Roasted Carrots If you haven’t tried this side dish… you’re missing out! Sweet, soft, almost like roasted sweet potatoes 🍠 Still tastes like carrot though—with a light, lovely crème topping. You can skip the duck, but don’t skip the carrots! (My friend was mind-blown lol) 🥂 French 125 My go-to drink here—sparkling wine + cognac + lemon 🍋 Light, refreshing, and just strong enough~ 🇫🇷 Poulet Bleu 📍 3517 Butler St, Pittsburgh 🅿️ Street parking—good luck finding a spot! We sat outside this time—with heaters, it was cozy even at 50°F. Any colder might be tough though! That’s all for now~Hope you enjoyed!
