Pocha Sister Restaurant: A Must-Try! 🍔

🌟Recently, I’ve been hooked on Korean dramas and craving all sorts of late-night eats. 🍤 I dragged my friends to check out this new tavern in North York—it’s a sister restaurant of the super-popular Pocha. The quality is definitely up to par, 🍝and the food and drinks are amazing! The atmosphere is on point too. 🍔 Dish Reviews 📝 🧀 Budae Jjigae: It’s been a while since I last had this military stew, and I was really craving it. Watching the cheese slowly melt and bubble was so satisfying. 🍝🍝 The portion is huge, filled with ramen noodles, tteok (rice cakes), Korean dumplings, ham, bacon, cabbage, kimchi, and sausages—all my favorite ingredients. It’s slightly sweet and not too spicy. At $33, it’s a steal and perfect for sharing with a group. 🍲 🐂 Beef Tartare: Korean-style raw beef. If you’re not a fan of strong sesame oil flavors, be cautious. Personally, I loved it. The meat is firm and not fishy at all. 🍖 🦐 Sweet and Spicy Shrimp: These fried jumbo shrimp have a sweet and spicy Korean twist. The shrimp meat is plump, and the shell is so crispy you can eat it right off. It reminds me of fried chicken! 🍤 🍝 Woo Samgyeop Pasta: Widely considered the best dish here! Order it! It’s a rich, creamy mushroom pasta with lots of tender beef. 🍔The pasta is al dente, and the beef is generous and tender. 🍝 🍖 Donkatsu: The plum sauce pork cutlet is also a great value. The seasoning is spot-on. 🍖 🍦 Dessert: The dessert is unique—a scoop of ice cream on top of a warm sweet potato waffle. When you cut into it, there’s a molten brown sugar center. It’s stunning! 🍦 🍹 Drinks: I tried traditional soju and special Korean rice wine. 🍔 The peach-flavored rice wine is mild and gentle, while the green grape soju is refreshing and a bit heady. I loved both! 🥂 To be honest, I was quite pleasantly surprised—everything exceeded my expectations! 🍖🍖 None of the dishes disappointed. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. 🍤 🍔The only downside is that there are fewer staff members, so they can get overwhelmed when the restaurant is busy. Haha. It’s great that they offer reservations, and the place is close to the subway station. I’d definitely come back! 🌟 🍖#Toronto #TorontoEats #TorontoFoodie🍤
