Pomet | A Farm-to-Table Gem with Perfectly Executed Dishes š±āØ
Since moving to San Francisco earlier this year, Iāve had my fair share of great meals in the Bay Area. But between work fatigue and sheer laziness, I havenāt been posting much. Last weekend, though, I ventured to Oakland for a wonderfully chill dinner at Pometāand itās reignited my foodie spirit! About Pomet: š A Michelin Green Star restaurant (for sustainability!) in Oakland, with a strong farm-to-table ethos. The menuās back page proudly lists all their local suppliersābecause the owner also runs K&J Orchards, one of the farms they source from. The menu is small but thoughtful, and the execution? Flawless. The Standouts: š Mushroom Ravioli ā Earthy, umami-packed, with crispy breadcrumbs for texture. A must-order. š¦ Five-Spice Roasted Quail ā Looks humble, but oh myājuicy, tender, with a light salt-roasted flavor (not overly spiced). š Pork Chop ā The star of the night. No gamey taste, just succulent, flavorful meat paired with fresh fava beans and a tangy sauce. Perfection. š° Chiffon Cake ā Light, airy, layered with mascarpone and topped with bursting-with-flavor peaches. š® Panna Cotta ā Silky, with playful crispy toppings and fruit. Almost as good as the chiffon. The Okay: š Hokkaido Milk Bread ā A tad over-toasted, but the accompanying cultured butter + whey was refreshing. š Black Cod ā Cooked perfectly (crispy skin, buttery flesh), but the beurre blanc sauce was⦠forgettable. Needed more zing! Vibes & Verdict: šæ Cozy, unpretentious, and seriously skilled at nailing cooking temps. Not the most expansive menu, but what they do, they do well. Iāll be back with friends! š Pomet Oakland, CA (exact address not listedācheck their site!) #SanFranciscoEats #OaklandFoodie #FarmToTable #MichelinGreenStar #BayAreaDining #FoodieFinds š½ļøšæ
