Portland & Acadia: Recommendations + Avoid These!
š“ Food: Hits & Misses Portland: Big Disappointments š« Letās cut to the chase: skip dining in Portland on your way through. Every restaurant seems to have insane waits at nightāoverpriced and underwhelming. Street & Co š¤”Waited 2 hours, ate in 10 minutes. The portions were shockingly tiny, and the food was terribly bad. Total waste of time and money. Yosaku š¤”Ended up here because we had no other options. Thereās parking, but the food? Unspeakable. I ordered udon, and it was so salty I questioned my life choices⦠The sashimi was not fresh either. Portland really gave us zero good food vibes. Bar Harbor: Mixed Bag Itās packed with people, but we found a couple of decent spots (and one dud). Galyn's š¤”Got takeout from hereānot good at all. Skip it. The Stadium & Jordan Pond Ice Cream šLetās be real, these saved our day! We ordered latte, lobster roll, and clam chowderāall solid. The clam chowder is a must: way better than expected! For dessert, Jordan Pondās š« (blueberry) and Oreo ice cream are delicious! The Travelin Lobster (near Bar Harbor) šA good pit stop when driving into/out of the mountains. Decent food overall. Personally, I liked their lazy lobster more than the lobster rollālazy lobster uses claw meat, which is much tenderer.P.S. If youāre not obsessed with lobster, bring instant noodles. Maine feels like a total food desert otherwiseā¦ š„¾ Trails: Pro Tips & Reminders Weather Check the forecast first! Go on a sunny day if possible. Rain/fog means zero views from the mountains + slippery, dangerous trails. Good weather makes everything better! Summit Road Reservation We booked a sunrise reservation for Summit Road but didnāt arrive until 10 AMāand werenāt stopped. So if your schedule is off, donāt stress! It seems you can enter any time slot on the same day. #Acadia #Portland
