Today, I passed by a chicken and waffles shop in Portland and walked in without a reservation. I was lucky to get a seat at the counter. Even though it was already past 10 p.m., the place was still packed with people, which surprised me. I didn't expect Portland's nightlife to be so vibrant 🌃. Sitting at the counter, I had a clear view of the busy chefs. The aroma of fried chicken filled the air, making my mouth water. The shop had a tranquil and cozy atmosphere, with soft lighting and relaxing music creating a pleasant dining environment 🎶. I ordered the signature fried chicken and waffles. The chicken had a crispy exterior and was juicy inside, embodying the classic American style. What surprised me was that it wasn't as greasy as some other fried chicken I've tried, making it much more enjoyable. The waffles were crispy on the outside and soft inside, paired with light syrup that was sweet but not overwhelming. The combination was simply perfect 💯.
